Job summary

Sims Metal is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to manage high-volume payroll for a global workforce. You will process weekly and semi-monthly payrolls using ADP Workforce Now and UKG, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and timely delivery for 4,000+ employees.

Strong communication with HR and benefits is essential, including year-end tasks and W-2 support. The role requires 4-6+ years of payroll experience, proficiency in Excel/Outlook, and familiarity with union payroll and Kronos.

Qualifications

• 4-6+ years of high-volume payroll processing experience.
• Experience handling payroll for a large employee base and union environments.
• Experience with ADP Workforce Now and UKG timekeeping.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Compile, input, and process payroll for 4,000+ employees.
• Ensure data accuracy and on-time entry; review payroll previews.
• Assist with Kronos (UKG) inquiries from field staff.
• Research and resolve payroll issues; respond to employee questions.
• Utilize ADP Tax site to download 941 forms and save records.
• Process dues calculations and health & welfare for unions.
• Print ADP uncashed notices and reconcile.
• Download iPay reports and prepare payroll reports.
• Maintain payroll processing documentation and update as needed.
• Process off-cycle payments and manual checks.
• Assist with W-2 preparation and Year-End process.
• Collaborate with HR, Benefits, and management to complete paperwork.
