Job summary

Bourbon & Bones Chophouse and Bar – Square One Concepts is seeking a reliable Boiler Cook to join the team. This role focuses on preparing foods using industrial boilers in a large-scale kitchen.

The ideal candidate will follow recipes, monitor cooking times, ensure safety and sanitation, and work well with the culinary team in a fast-paced environment. Flexible hours, 18+ and food handler certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years old.
• Food safety knowledge and proper handling practices.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Team-oriented with flexible scheduling.
• Valid Food Handlers Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor industrial boilers to cook large batches of food such as soups, stews, sauces, pasta, and grains in accordance with established recipes and portion sizes.
• Follow standardized recipes and cooking procedures to ensure consistency in flavor, texture, and quality of dishes.
• Prep ingredients, such as chopping vegetables, portioning meats and measuring spices in preparation for cooking.
• Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure that dishes are cooked thoroughly and to the desired degree of doneness.
• Adjust seasoning, spices, and flavors to meet taste preferences while maintaining overall quality.
• Adhere to proper food safety and sanitation standards including handling, storing, and disposing of food items.
• Ensure boiler and cooking equipment are cleaned, maintained, and operated according to manufacturer guidelines.
• Work as part of the culinary team, coordinate with other cooks, chefs, and kitchen staff for smooth operations.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace and sanitize equipment and surfaces.
• Be prepared to adapt to changing menus, work volumes and methods as dictated by kitchen needs.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
