Job summary

Boxcar Bar + Arcade in Durham is seeking a bartender who can handle a packed bar, craft great drinks, and genuinely enjoy making guests feel welcome.

You will host guests, know the menu cold, and participate in events and theme nights. The role requires several years of high-volume bar experience, a hospitable attitude, reliability, and physical stamina. Certifications such as Cicerone or ServSafe are a plus.

Qualifications

• Several years of experience in high-volume bars or nightclubs.
• Willingness to work weekends, closing shifts, private events, and holidays.
• Certifications such as Cicerone or ServSafe are a plus.
• Able to stand for 8-hour shifts and lift up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Make great drinks quickly across the menu.
• Host the party and be the face of Boxcar.
• Know the menu cold and be ready to recommend.
• Participate in events and theme nights.
• Do keg changes, line cleaning, fruit prep, restocking.
• Maintain a clean bar, handle cash accurately, and manage inventory.
