Job summary

Southwire Company, a leading North American wire and cable producer, seeks an experienced lineman to perform safe repair and rejuvenation of underground cables using patented methods. Travel to jobs and operate injection equipment on energized and de-energized circuits as part of field service.

Responsibilities include adhering to OSHA safety rules, cable testing, switching orders, and documenting daily work.

Qualifications

• Relevant work experience as a Lineman or Cable Splicer with current certification or documentation.
• Experience with underground line work including URD, fault location and repair, and switching.
• Strong Lineman underground craftwork skills, including inline splices, terminations and elbows.

Responsibilities

• Safety-first mindset and adherence to OSHA rules on-site.
• Operate testing equipment and perform cable testing and path analysis.
• Place and operate injection equipment on de-energized and energized cables.
• Switch medium voltage circuits and write switching orders with the circuit owner.
• Perform field service and travel as required.
• Coordinate with team leader on job planning and daily records.
• Maintain vehicles and equipment and assist with job planning.
