Job summary

Summit Line Construction, a Quanta Services company, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee high-voltage transmission and distribution construction and maintenance projects across the country. The role focuses on planning, budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor management, safety, and quality, with a specific emphasis on projects in the Texas/NM area.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5-7 years of project management experience in high-voltage electric transmission and distribution or inside commercial, industrial electrical construction or a related field.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize work effectively.
• Fast-paced environment adaptability and flexibility to switch directions as needed.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or business (advanced degree or PMP preferred).
• Must pass mandatory drug and alcohol screenings.

Responsibilities

• Lead project planning and manage the projected budget for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
• Keep costs within forecast and implement cost-saving measures where possible.
• Develop and manage Schedule of Values (SOV); update based on production and prepare billing packages.
• Assist in pre-construction efforts including bid preparation and contract review.
• Provide daily, weekly, and monthly projections and progress for all construction activities.
• Forecast project costs and ensure accuracy of reporting.
• Manage submittals and RFIs; track and respond to information requests.
• Review cost reports and identify cost-reduction opportunities while maintaining productivity.
• Oversee invoicing or payment application process for completed scope.
• Create, maintain, and update comprehensive project schedules reflecting scope.
• Monitor weekly labor, equipment hours, material, and subcontractor reporting.
• Prepare, review and negotiate revisions to contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Ensure contracts comply with policy and legal requirements; work with legal as needed.
• Maintain electronic and printed project files per document control practices.
• Generate and review periodic project projections and progress reports for leadership.
• Present project updates to executives and stakeholders.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Lead meetings with stakeholders to discuss work procedures and resolve issues.
• Explain plans and contract terms to staff and clients; represent the owner/developer.
• Fulfill stakeholders’ reporting requirements promptly and accurately.
• Develop material trackers and oversee BOM-based asset management.
• Monitor and control construction to maintain schedule and budget; address delays.
• Implement corrective actions for delays or emergencies.
• Ensure productivity and efficient use of materials and equipment.
• Lead and mentor junior project staff; foster high-performance teams.
• Support staffing adjustments based on workload.
