Job summary

Quanta Services is seeking a Design Engineer I to support overhead transmission line design, including PLS-CADD modeling, line routing, and structure analysis. You will use AutoCAD, MicroStation, and ArcGIS to prepare drawings and ensure compliance with NESC, IEEE, ANSI, and IBC.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in civil/structural or mechanical engineering.
• Experience with CAD tools (AutoCAD, MicroStation, ArcGIS) or similar.
• Knowledge of design codes such as NESC, IEEE, ANSI, IBC.
• Ability to travel up to 10% of time.

Responsibilities

• Support overhead transmission line design; perform routing, structural analysis and loading trees.
• Utilize CAD and modeling tools to prepare scaled drawings and mappings.
• Apply design codes and draftings with engineer redlines and accuracy checks.
• Conduct calculations including voltage drop, pole loading, and related analyses.
• Maintain project documentation and collaborate with engineering teams.
