Job summary

Nexans is seeking a Test Engineer to lead high voltage testing in the Charleston plant's lab, ensuring cables meet electrical tests during production and before delivery. You will prepare test plans, reports, and coordinate with customers and project teams while mentoring lab staff and driving continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• 3+ years in electrical testing in a manufacturing environment, preferably involving high voltage systems
• Strong understanding of relevant standards and regulatory bodies for high voltage cables and accessories
• Commitment to health, safety, and environmental best practices
• Fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Lead HV laboratory testing on assigned cable projects and coordinate with customer representatives.
• Provide technical leadership within the testing field and support lab personnel.
• Calculate equipment requirements and testing parameters; arrange rental equipment as needed.
• Coordinate maintenance and calibration of testing equipment for reliability and accuracy.
• Develop and maintain test procedures, work instructions, and standardized testing methods.
• Lead project start-up meetings and ensure test specifications are finalized before testing begins.
• Prepare and issue reports related to development samples and internal documentation.
