Job summary

Nexans is seeking a Materials Test Technician to join our team in Charleston, USA. The role focuses on preparing samples, conducting tests on cable materials, operating test equipment, and documenting results across production stages.

You will perform defect analyses, maintain test documentation, and communicate findings with the Test Engineer and Lab Manager. A high school diploma is required, with lab experience preferred, and familiarity with precision measurement tools is desirable.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English.
• High School Diploma; technical secondary education preferred.
• Experience working in a laboratory is strongly preferred.
• Quality control testing experience within a manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
• Proficient with hand tools and precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometer, etc.).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; ability to learn Synergi, TeamCenter, SAP.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples and carry out tests on cable materials at various production stages.
• Operate test equipment and perform 5S tasks.
• Prepare samples for tests and document results.
• Conduct defect analysis and root cause investigations and report findings to Test Engineer and Lab Managers.
• Communicate results using rigorous scientific methodology.
• Support procedure development and testing documentation.
