Job summary

Aggreko plc in Houston, TX seeks a High Voltage Electrical Technician to install, commission, maintain, troubleshoot, test and repair Aggreko's electrical power distribution equipment, including transformers, switchgear, load banks, cables, and related systems. This role supports both field and service center operations while ensuring safety and quality standards.

You’ll be responsible for major component failures, field repairs, advanced HV/LV troubleshooting, and reading drawings to guide

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of high/medium voltage experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with refineries/government site protocols.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally; passport or ability to obtain.
• Ability to obtain and maintain TWIC Card.
• Knowledge of 4160 and higher voltage systems.

Responsibilities

• Respond to major component failure escalations.
• Carry out major component changes and field repairs.
• Advanced troubleshooting of electrical LV or HV systems.
• Provide hands-on electrical support.
• Ensure repairs are on time, to standard and within budgets.
• Read drawings and schematics; use blueprints and layouts.
• Locate and repair defects; review reports accuracy.
• Comply with electrical practices; work under pressure.
• Suggest improvements and revisions to maintenance procedures.
• Demonstrate continuous improvement; cooperate with teams.
• Exercise independent initiative; perform other duties.
