Job summary

Transmission & Distribution World is seeking a High Voltage Electrician (Lineman) Journeyman to perform maintenance and construction on high-voltage transmission lines and related equipment. This position is not remote and requires physical presence at a designated duty location.

The role involves erecting lines, replacing poles and hardware, stringing conductors, splicing, operating heavy equipment, and working on energized systems up to 161 kV, with strict safety protocols and PPE.

Qualifications

• Journeyman-level ability in the duties of a High Voltage Electrician (Lineman).
• Must meet qualification and eligibility requirements for the position by the closing date.

Responsibilities

• Erects power lines with structures, conductors and associated equipment.
• Replaces or installs poles, cross arms, insulators, hardware, and substation equipment.
• Strings conductors between structures and maintains proper sag; performs splices and reinstalls.
• Operates and maintains equipment such as bucket trucks, cranes, winches, and digging tools.
• Works on energized lines up to 161 kV with PPE and safety devices; overhauls and patrols rights-of-way.
• Investigates transmission line equipment failures and coordinates with agency personnel and external contacts.
