Job summary

Workhorse in Michigan is seeking a High-Voltage Component Design Release Engineer to own the design, validation, integration, and release of high-voltage components for our vehicle platforms. You will drive the full lifecycle from requirements to production launch and field support, coordinating with mechanical, thermal, electrical, and vehicle teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 2–5 years automotive engineering experience.
• Experience with high-voltage components and systems.
• Understanding of automotive development phases.
• Ability to travel to supplier locations.

Responsibilities

• Own design, development, validation, and release of high-voltage components.
• Develop and refine component requirements.
• Lead supplier evaluations and sourcing activities.
• Manage supplier engineering, design, and production-readiness.
• Develop timing and validation plans.
• Track status, risks, and issues across projects.
• Review supplier drawings and test reports.
• Collaborate with mechanical, packaging, thermal, electrical teams.
• Support prototype and production validation builds.
• Provide on-site engineering support.
• Lead component-level issue resolution and vehicle troubleshooting.
• Support field service, warranty, and root-cause investigations.
• Ensure performance, reliability, quality, safety, cost, timing.
