Job summary

Electric Machinery Company, a division of WEG Electric Corp., in Minneapolis, MN, is seeking an Electrical Tester (High Voltage) for the 1st shift. The Tester will set up, operate, troubleshoot, calibrate, and report validated performance data on motors, generators, control equipment, and specialized power apparatus to meet IEEE, API, and NEMA specs.

The role is full-time with union benefits, Monday–Friday 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. Pay ranges from $22 to $28 per hour, with overtime possibilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; advanced certificate/degree in related field desired.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and is self-motivated.
• Must be able to work with a team and independently.
• Good oral and written communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up, connect, test and adjust test items to meet specifications.
• Read production orders and engineering data sheets for testing.
• Prepare data sheets, test plans and reports.
• Use test equipment such as voltmeters, ammeters, dynamometers and high-pot equipment.
• Record and analyze data to compare with specifications.
• Conduct mechanical setup and dynamic balancing of components.
• Calibrate and maintain electrical test equipment and databases.
