Job summary

Electric Machinery Company, a division of WEG Electric Corp. in Minneapolis, MN, is looking for a Maintenance Laborer for the 1st shift. The role focuses on cleaning the shop area, break rooms, restrooms and surrounding spaces, supporting a maintenance team and ensuring safe, orderly operations.

You will work with the Maintenance Team to perform basic maintenance tasks, observe ISO 9001 standards and help keep facilities clean and organized in a union, full-time role.

Qualifications

High School degree (preferred) with 1 year of maintenance experience (preferred).
Ability to be certified in overhead crane, Jib crane and forklift operation.

Responsibilities

Cleans shop break rooms and restrooms; empties trash, washes windows, power sweeps and cleans floors and surfaces.
Empties manufacturing floor trash into the larger dumpster and transfers to the compactor when needed.
Cleans trash containers and dumpsters using the high pressure washer in the wash booth.
Bales cardboard in the compactor when needed.
Works with Maintenance Team and supports Electrical/Mechanical Technicians as needed.
Demonstrates commitment to Continuous Improvement and follows ISO 9001, OSHA and EPA regulations.

Primary Objective Of Position

The Maintenance Labor role is responsible for general cleaning of the shop area, including break rooms, restrooms, manufacturing floor aisles and parking lot.

Skills Matrix

The Maintenance Labor position is part of the Maintenance Team skills Matrix. This position works as a team member utilizing and performing to the Maintenance Team skills matrix, which outlines the comprehensive skills in the Maintenance Team.

Major Areas Of Accountability

Cleans shop break rooms and restrooms. Empty trash, wash windows, power sweep, power scrub and wash floors, clean countertops/surfaces, plumbing fixtures. Refill paper products and maintain supplies.
Empty manufacturing floor trash into larger dumpster, and when necessary the larger dumpster into the compactor.
Clean trash containers and dumpsters when needed using the high pressure washer in the wash booth.
Bale cardboard in compactor when needed.
Works in other areas of the Maintenance Team skills matrix, may perform basic Maintenance duties and support Electrical Mechanical Technicians.
Demonstrates a commitment to Continuous Improvement by identifying opportunities in day to day work.
Performs to ISO 9001 Quality Standards and abides to OSHA and EPA regulations.
