Job summary

NAES is seeking a skilled HV Electrical Technician to support the APEX Power Co. Project in Hubbard, TX. You will perform specialized testing, commissioning, switching, maintenance, troubleshooting, and analysis across generation, distribution, substation, auxiliary, and BESS systems.

You will inspect, test, and repair HV/MV systems, conduct electrical testing and energization, and document results to support reliable operation and plant startups and outages.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in electrical/power tech or related field; relevant apprenticeship considered.
• NETA Level II/III/IV certification preferred or equivalent safety training.
• Hands-on HV/MV experience in power facilities, substations, or industrial plants.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HV/MV systems including switchgear and transformers.
• Perform preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on electrical systems.
• Execute HV switching, isolation, grounding, energization, and restoration per procedures.
• Troubleshoot protective relays, CTs/PTs, breaker circuits, and protection logic.
• Document test results, condition of equipment, and actions taken for reliability improvements.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, contractors, utilities, and OEMs.
