Job summary

Redwood Materials is seeking an Abuse Test Technician to support high-voltage battery testing, teardown, and failure analysis in a hands-on lab environment. You will tear down battery packs, set up tests, and document results to support durability and safety evaluations.

The role requires experience with high-voltage systems, mechanical assembly, and strict adherence to safety procedures. Compensation is commensurate with experience and relevant skills.

Qualifications

• Experience with high-voltage systems or power electronics.
• Hands-on mechanical assembly/disassembly.
• Ability to read schematics and technical test procedures.
• Commitment to safety PPE and procedures in hazardous environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform abuse tests on battery modules and packs, including thermal, electrical, and mechanical stress testing.
• Disassemble and tear down battery packs to analyze components and degradation patterns.
• Follow detailed test setup instructions to ensure accurate, repeatable results.
• Install sensors and harnesses on packs and test fixtures; document results clearly.
• Collaborate with engineers and safety teams to run protocols safely and effectively.
• Maintain a clean, organized test lab and proper storage of tools.
