Job summary

Redwood Materials is seeking a Battery Disassembly Technician to perform safe, high‑volume disassembly of EV battery packs and modules in a manufacturing setting, with strict high‑voltage safety.

You will follow standardized work instructions, operate a range of hand and power tools, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to maintain safety, quality, and throughput while handling heavy battery systems and components.

Qualifications

  • High voltage training and certifications required.
  • Ability to operate a range of material handling equipment.
  • Must meet medical clearance and fit testing for full-face respirator per OSHA standards.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of mechanical fastening and component-level disassembly techniques.
  • Prior rigging and heavy material handling experience preferred; training and certification provided.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% for field operations.

Responsibilities

  • Disassembles EV battery packs and modules per established work instructions.
  • Follows high voltage safety, lockout/tagout, and PPE requirements; uses insulated tools and testing equipment.
  • Maintains production flow, documents output, and ensures safety, quality, and throughput.
  • Operates a range of hand tools, power tools, and electrical diagnostic equipment safely.
  • Collaborates with Manufacturing, Engineering, EHS, and Maintenance to improve disassembly processes.
  • Performs rigging and controlled lifting of large battery packs using approved devices.
  • Upholds 5S and general manufacturing standards, including cleanliness and organization.
