Job summary

Redwood Materials is hiring a Battery Disassembly Technician to safely and efficiently disassemble EV battery packs and modules in a high-volume manufacturing setting. The role demands strict adherence to high-voltage safety protocols, standardized work, and ongoing process improvement.

You will perform controlled disassembly, verify voltage absence, and handle components like BMS, wiring, busbars, and cooling systems.

Qualifications

Requires participation in high voltage training and certifications.
Demonstrates working knowledge of mechanical fastening systems, electrical connections, and component-level disassembly techniques.
Experience with safety protocols such as lockout/tagout (LOTO) and PPE usage.
Ability to operate and troubleshoot basic electrical verification during disassembly.

Responsibilities

Disassemble EV battery packs and modules following work instructions and safety procedures.
Safely isolate, energize de-energize, and verify absence of voltage before handling HV systems.
Disassemble systems to module and component level including BMS, wiring, and cooling components.
Identify, sort, and route components for reuse, recycling, or disposal per standards.
Handle lithium-ion battery materials with approved containment methods.
Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, EHS, and Maintenance to improve processes and safety controls.
