Job summary

Eikon Therapeutics is hiring for a biology-focused scientist to pioneer live-cell, high-throughput assays using proprietary super-resolution microscopy. You will design, run, and optimize scalable assays, collaborating with computational biologists and software engineers to apply advanced analytics and machine learning to large datasets.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Master’s plus 10 years of relevant experience in Biology, Bioengineering, Biotechnology, or related field.
• Proficiency in mammalian cell culture with sterile technique.
• Proficiency in laboratory techniques and equipment relevant to molecular and cellular biological research.
• Demonstrated experience in systematic optimization and validation of biological assays.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with novel assay technologies.
• Working experience in quantitative fluorescence microscopy and/or super-resolution microscopy.
• Working experience with relevant quantitative and/or statistical analysis using common software tools (e.g., Microsoft Suite, GraphPad Prism, etc.).
• Working experience with one or more high-level programming languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB or R) to perform large dataset analysis and visualization.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey scientific concepts effectively.
• Collaborative mindset with the capacity to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Proactive and adaptable to evolving research priorities and challenges.
• Working experience in protein dynamics using single-molecule microscopy is preferred.
• Working experience with high-throughput instrumentation and automation systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and analyze robust and reproducible experiments to optimize, validate, and scale up live-cell imaging-based assays for high-throughput screening using Eikon’s proprietary super-resolution microscopy platform.
• Collaborate with computational biologists and software engineers to apply state-of-the-art computational and statistical methods including machine-learning to analyze large datasets.
• Summarize and deliver timely, high-quality and actionable data to drive project team decisions across drug discovery portfolios.
• Exercise good scientific judgment and provide data-driven recommendations to project teams.
• Maintain organized and comprehensive electronic records of experiments, results, and protocols in adherence to company standards and regulatory requirements.
• Work closely with the High-Throughput Biology Operations Team to transfer optimized processes into productionized operations workflows with well-documented standard operating procedures.
• Collaborate and communicate across a diverse team of biologists, chemists, and engineers.
• Contribute to the growth and training of junior scientists.
