Job summary

Ethos is seeking an Extraction Specialist for a high-throughput laboratory environment. You will accession, prepare, and extract specimens (urine, oral fluid, plasma, and PCR) using liquid-handling instruments and automated SPE methods, ensuring speed, accuracy, and quality.

The role emphasizes precise data entry, adherence to SOPs, and cross-training across testing instruments within the Initial Testing team. Strong attention to detail is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Toxicology, Biochemistry, Biology, Forensic Science or similar analytical field; or AS in MLT with certification and 3 years of experience
• Minimum 1 year of data entry experience required
• Preference for familiarity with pipetting, extractions, and 96-well plates
• Preference for experience handling bodily fluids such as urine and oral fluid

Responsibilities

• Accession specimens into LIS by entering patient data and related information
• Verify specimen labeling and matching information on documentation
• Prepare specimens for testing using SOPs and perform extractions
• Prepare calibrators and quality controls for extraction
• Perform maintenance on automated liquid handlers and SPE robots
• Document steps and notify personnel of issues during extraction
• Stock reagents and supplies for lab operations
• Cross-train on related testing instruments and processes
• Ensure compliance with CLIA and CAP regulations
