Job summary

Our Orlando, FL laboratory is looking for a full-time Laboratory Technician to join their Extractions team. The role focuses on preparing samples with accuracy and precision in accordance with SGS' analytical SOPs, working both independently and as part of a team to meet daily production targets.

The technician will follow safe laboratory practices and maintain a safe working environment, with responsibilities including instrument maintenance, data entry, and adherence to SOPs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and 0-2 years of experience in Analytical Chemistry Laboratories or related experience.
• Associates Degree in Chemistry or similar discipline with 1-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Advanced English language skills required.
• Basic mathematical and reasoning skills required.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) required.
• Experience with LIMS required.
• Ability to lift/carry/push or pull upwards of 25 lbs frequently.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for analysis according to SGS SOPs using department instrumentation.
• Perform routine operation, maintenance, and calibration of prep instruments/equipment.
• May assist with validation and MDL studies.
• Input and maintain technical information to support laboratory operations.
• Maintain Laboratory Notebook where applicable.
• Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures.
• Perform other duties as required.
