Job summary

General Atomics in Palmdale, CA seeks a Facilities Maintenance Technician to troubleshoot and repair office and facilities equipment at our Palmdale site. Under limited supervision, you will perform a range of maintenance trades and respond to internal service requests.

You should have a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 7+ years in construction or facilities maintenance, with the ability to read blueprints, work safely, and lift 50 lbs. We offer full-time hourly roles and competitive pay.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 7+ years in construction or facilities maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, layouts, wiring diagrams, and specifications.
• Strong organization and problem-solving skills with minimal supervision.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; interface with all levels of personnel.
• Safe use of common hand and power tools and ability to lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance trades including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC and other repairs.
• Inspect facilities and equipment to identify maintenance needs and prevent breakdowns.
• Carry out preventive maintenance on buildings and equipment per procedures.
• Provide building services for new construction and renovations; framing, drywall, painting, flooring, doors, and hardware.
• Respond to maintenance requests from managers and internal customers.
• Test, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair machines and equipment.
• Set up and operate tools and equipment to perform tasks.
• Work safely according to procedures and company policies.
