Job summary

ABM Industries is seeking a Building Maintenance Technician in California to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems, and complete work orders across commercial facilities.

Requires a high school diploma or GED, 2+ years in facilities maintenance, and strong troubleshooting skills. Must be able to use hand and power tools and diagnostic equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of 2 years in building or facilities maintenance.
• General knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on building equipment and systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, lighting, and mechanical issues.
• Complete work orders and maintenance requests in a timely manner.
• Conduct routine inspections of facilities and equipment to identify maintenance needs.
• Repair doors, locks, walls, ceilings, flooring, fixtures, and other building components.
• Replace filters, belts, bulbs, and other consumables as needed.
• Respond to emergency maintenance situations and service calls.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and OSHA regulations.
• Assist with facility improvement projects and equipment installations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Communicate effectively with occupants, vendors, and management.
