Job summary

General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) seeks a hands-on Facility Maintenance Technician in Centennial, CO to sustain facility equipment, systems, and infrastructure for safe, efficient operations. You’ll perform preventive/corrective maintenance, troubleshoot HVAC/plumbing, monitor BAS, and coordinate with vendors as needed.

The role requires strong mechanical skills, building systems knowledge, and ability to read blueprints; DoD clearance may be required.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a two-year technical degree, trade school equivalent, military class C school or Military Occupation Specialty (MOS), and seven or more years of progressive experience as a stationary engineer, journeyman plumber or HVAC mechanic.
• Must demonstrate considerable knowledge of construction industry mechanic concepts and regulations as well as plumbing and mechanical codes.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security clearance is maybe required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on facility systems and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Monitor building systems including HVAC controls and Building Automation Systems (BAS).
• Replace filters, belts, bearings, sensors, motors, pumps, and other mechanical components.
• Install, repair, and maintain plumbing fixtures, piping, and utility systems including compressed air, gas, water, and sewer lines.
• Inspect facility equipment and systems to identify and resolve issues before failures occur.
• Calibrate and maintain HVAC controls and temperature sensors.
• Respond to maintenance requests and facility emergencies in a timely manner.
• Perform general building maintenance including minor repairs, furniture moves, and workspace setup.
• Conduct safety inspections of fire extinguishers, exit lights, eyewash stations, and related equipment.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records using SAP CMMS or work order systems.
• Follow company safety procedures, building codes, and environmental regulations.
