Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania seeks a Mail Production Operator for the Department of Transportation, Bureau of Motor Vehicles, to support the processing of computer generated mail using automated equipment and ensure accurate and timely distribution. This full-time position involves machine setup, equipment operation, material loading, quality verification, minor repairs and mail transport.

Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with a 60-minute lunch, and telework is not

Qualifications

• One year as a Mail Production Assistant (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration).
• One year of clerical experience.
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Machine Setup: Program daily machine settings and prepare equipment for operation.
• Equipment Operation: Run Bell and Howell inserting systems and monitor performance.
• Material Loading: Load forms, inserts, envelopes, and card stock into assigned bins.
• Quality Verification: Check completed mail pieces for accuracy and proper orientation.
• Minor Repairs: Perform small adjustments to maintain efficient machine function.
• Mail Transport: Move completed mail trays to designated processing areas.
