Job summary

Muhlenberg High School is seeking a High School Swimming Assistant Coach for a Winter 2027 start. The role emphasizes the impact of extracurricular activities on students’ development and requires collaboration with the Head Coach to carry out the program philosophy across grades 9–12.

Qualified candidates will have knowledge of scholastic swimming, strong teamwork and communication skills, and the ability to supervise and direct student-athletes while adhering to PIAA rules and district plans.

Qualifications

• Requires knowledge of sport and prior coaching experience in scholastic swimming.
• Demonstrates ability to work in a team setting with students and staff.
• Ability to give clear direction to student-athletes and staff.
• Demonstrates ability to supervise and direct others effectively.
• Must be interested in supporting and working with all student-athletes.
• Knowledge of PIAA rules and policies governing the sport.
• Ability to work within the Blueprint/Action Plan of the Muhlenberg School District.
• Clearly communicate to student athletes, parents, school officials and sport officials.
• Work collaboratively with the High School Head Coach to ensure their philosophy is carried out.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the High School Head Coach to implement the 9-12 swimming program philosophy.
• Provide clear direction and supervision to student-athletes during practices and competitions.
• Communicate with student-athletes, parents, and school officials about expectations and progress.
• Participate in all required training as dictated by PIAA.
• Support student-athletes' social, emotional and academic development through athletic participation.

Preferred

• Prior coaching experience in scholastic swimming
• Bilingual candidates

Interested applicants must have current clearances, Acts 34, 114, 151 and 168 and three professional references.

The successful candidate will be required to participate in all training as required by PIAA.
