Job summary

Westfield Public Schools seeks a Student Mentor for St. Mary's High School to support at-risk students with academic and personal growth. The role is part-time (up to 10 hours per week) with a $30 per hour stipend, during the 2026-2027 school year.

You will build trusting relationships, encourage good study habits, coordinate with teachers and families, monitor attendance, and complete mentor logs. Must have at least 2 years of relevant experience and citizenship/residency/work visa.

Qualifications

• Two years of relevant experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with students to provide a trusted adult.
• Set high expectations and be a role model for students.
• Provide academic support and help organize schedules and study habits.
• Collaborate with teachers and families to support learning.
• Promote personal and social skills and help in self-advocacy.
• Monitor attendance and communicate concerns to support systems.
• Complete mentor logs and time cards.
