Job summary

Uncommon Schools seeks a Dean of Curriculum & Instruction (DCI) to lead data-driven instruction, teacher development, and culture across a high-performing network of public charter schools. The role collaborates with the Principal, Directors, and regional DCIs to raise student achievement and strengthen instructional systems.

The DCI will design and deliver PD, lead data-analysis cycles, and coach teachers and ILs to implement Uncommon’s curricular frameworks.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of teaching experience with evidence of outstanding student growth and achievement.
• Demonstrated instructional coaching capabilities that contribute to teacher growth and development.
• Strong content knowledge, across multiple gradespans or content areas.
• Bachelor’s Degree.

Responsibilities

• Lead data-driven instruction to inform planning and improve student outcomes.
• Provide real-time feedback to teachers during instruction and support mid-year reviews.
• Plan and deliver high-quality professional development across networks or regions.
• Coach and identify high-leverage goals for instructional leaders (ILs) and lead IL team meetings.
• Oversee school-wide data response curriculum and curate staff-wide professional development sessions.
