Job summary

Qualifications

• Masters Degree in Education.
• Licensed by MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education as a High School Special Education Teacher (Moderate or Severe Disabilities).
• Experience with students with special needs and high school setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction to students in inclusive settings with regular education teachers.
• Plan and modify regular curriculum.
• Consult with regular education staff.
• Monitor student progress in the program.
• Develop IEPs and determine goals and objectives.
• Prepare progress reports.
• Organize and chair team meetings.
• Administer testing for evaluations and reports.
• Maintain contact with parents.
• Attend building learning team meetings.
• Direct the work of teaching assistants.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by Building Principal and Special Education Administrator.
