Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with students with disabilities preferred but not required.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as IEPs and behavior plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction and supervision for students with disabilities in special and general education classrooms.
• Modify academic materials or environment under direction from the Special Education staff.
• Identify and facilitate peer relationships and natural supports.
• Follow behavior intervention plans and monitor safety in school and activities.
• Maintain required forms and records as requested by teachers and therapists.
• De-escalate students using approved CPI measures as needed.
• Communicate observations and progress with teachers and therapists.
• Assist with minor clerical duties and attend trainings and student staffings.
