Job summary

Neosho School District is seeking a compassionate Special Education Teacher for Neosho High School. You will provide individualized instruction, develop IEPs, and coordinate services to support students with disabilities in a high school setting.

You will work closely with families, general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to ensure meaningful progress and successful participation in the school community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Missouri Special Education certification or eligibility.
• Knowledge of IEP development and progress monitoring.
• Experience with students with disabilities preferred.
• CPR/First Aid or crisis-prevention training may be required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs per state and federal requirements.
• Provide individualized and small‑group instruction.
• Use progress data to plan instruction and adjust supports.
• Implement accommodations, modifications, and behavior support plans.
• Create a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to support access to curriculum.
• Coordinate services with related-service providers and other staff.
• Facilitate IEP meetings and communicate progress with families.
• Supervise and support paraprofessionals.
• Maintain accurate student records and progress data.
• Support students in developing academic, communication, and social skills.
• Participate in professional development and district improvement efforts.
