Job summary

KIPP Public Schools Northern California in San Francisco is seeking an Education Specialist to lead IEPs for Mild/Mod students at the high school level (26-27). You will collaborate with the Leadership Team, implement inclusive practices, and deliver specialized instruction aligned with district and school objectives.

The role emphasizes data-driven instruction, restorative practices, and professional growth within a supportive, anti-racist school culture.

Qualifications

  • Hold a B.A./B.S. degree from a regionally accredited institution
  • Either possess a valid teaching credential in the desired subject or be eligible for a Provisional Internship Permit or Short Term Staff Permit
  • CPR certification by American Heart Association or American Red Cross is a prerequisite for this permit

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the development, proposal, and implementation of students' IEPs in accordance with state and federal law
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop measurable annual goals in academic, behavior, and social-emotional areas
  • Provide specialized academic instruction and related services through various service models (co-teaching, pull-out, small groups, one-to-one)
  • Collect and analyze data to monitor progress and inform instruction
  • Develop daily and long-term lesson plans aligned to IEPs and KIPP's mission
  • Differentiate and modify instruction to meet student needs
  • Train staff to support instruction and IEP delivery
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, rigorous learning environment using Restorative Practices and SEL
  • Communicate with families and staff to ensure strong partnerships on IEP goals
  • Engage in professional development and communities of practice
  • Maintain special education records and documentation
