Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education required.
• Michigan secondary education certification with Special Education endorsement required.
• Master’s degree is a plus.
• Experience developing and implementing IEPs for students with disabilities.
• Strong knowledge of best practices in special education and disabilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, families, and colleagues.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in planning and assessing activities.
• Ability to provide measurable data-driven results on resumes.
• Ability to work independently and inspire high school scholars.
• Belief that ALL children can succeed regardless of zip code.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards.
• Create assessments and evaluate student performance using diverse methods.
• Develop and implement IEPs for students with special needs.
• Deliver direct instruction in various settings including one-on-one and small groups.
• Provide specialized instruction and behavioral and social-emotional support.
• Collaborate with general education teachers and staff to support inclusion.
• Monitor progress and adjust instruction as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and services.
• Stay current on best practices in special education and disabilities.
• Engage in school activities and maintain a safe learning environment.
