The successful applicant must have a valid Michigan secondary teaching certification with an endorsement in Chemistry, and demonstrate data-driven results and a commitment to equity for historically underserved scholars.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Education, or a related field.
• Valid Michigan secondary teaching certification/license with an endorsement in the subject.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in planning and assessing educational activities.
• Strong understanding of chemistry concepts and ability to convey complex information clearly.
• Provide measurable data-driven results on resume.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans meeting standards and diverse learning styles.
• Deliver curriculum covering atomic structure, bonding, reactions, stoichiometry, and thermodynamics.
• Organize and conduct laboratory experiments with safety protocols.
• Ensure materials and equipment are maintained and properly handled.
• Develop assessments and monitor student performance through tests, projects, and labs.
• Collaborate with colleagues to align curricula and participate in professional development.
• Participate in school activities and events to support the mission.
• Maintain a safe, positive environment and effective communication with students and families.
