Job summary

CREST Collaborative seeks a Special Education Teacher for a High School program (Grades 9-12) in Andover, MA. The role focuses on an autism-focused cohort with intense collaboration with families and providers.

The ideal candidate has MA certification in Special Education and experience with ASD/ID/EMD, ABA-based instruction, and functional communication strategies, while supporting student progress and team-identified goals.

Qualifications

• Masters Degree preferred.
• Massachusetts certification in Special Education required.
• Experience with students with ASD, Intellectual Disabilities and Emotional Disabilities.
• Experience using assistive technology to promote curricular access required.
• Experience using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis within teaching and behavioral methodologies.
• Experience working with students with complex social/communication/behavioral profiles including promotion of functional communication, antecedent management and de-escalation.
• Must be capable of lifting a minimum of 50 pounds
• Assists with student behavior management as needed.
• At least 2 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
• Master degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required

Responsibilities

• Create and deliver evidence-based instructional programs.
• Develop and write Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
• Participate in TEAM meetings and communicate with stakeholders.
• Write concrete objectives with conditions, behaviors, supports, and criteria.
• Deliver instruction using evidence-based curricula and adapted materials.
• Supervise and train support staff in curricula delivery.
• Evaluate staff performance per policy.
• Collect and monitor progress data to measure student growth.
• Maintain a professional and positive classroom culture.
