Qualifications

• Georgia Teaching Certificate required by Georgia Professional Standards Commission.
• Special Education Adaptive Curriculum (P-12) certification required.
• Special Education Cognitive areas (P-5) in Math, Science, English, Reading, and Social Studies preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete designated follow-up procedures for students referred for special education services.
• Develop, implement, monitor, and annually review the I.E.P. of each eligible student on the caseload.
• Work with parents in all aspects of their child's educational program.
• Supervise paraprofessionals assigned to provide support to selected students.
• Compile, maintain and submit all required reports in a timely manner.
• Provide educational services according to the guidelines of the program and delivery model.
• Ensure confidentiality of student information.
• Follow federal and state laws, as well as Board policies.
