Job summary

The Connecticut Technical Education and Career System (CTECS) is seeking a THS Special Education Instructor for H.C. Wilcox Technical High School in Meriden, CT. The role focuses on educating students with and without disabilities using differentiated instruction, assistive technology, and collaborative planning with content-area teachers.

Schedule is first shift, full time (35 hours per week). Certification in a CT secondary education area is required or eligible.

Qualifications

• Experience in a high school setting (9-12).
• Trade career referral experience is preferred.
• Experience with services, accommodations, progress monitoring, and case management for high school students.
• Experience with varied assessments to inform instruction and promote learning.
• Experience fostering learning, classroom management, and behavior intervention plans.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google products.

Responsibilities

• Educate students with and without disabilities using diverse, high-expectation pedagogy and assistive technologies.
