State of Connecticut - CT Technical Ed and Career System (CTECS) is seeking a Special Education Instructor for Henry Abbott Technical High School in Danbury, CT. The position requires an active CT teaching certificate in specified Special Education areas or eligibility, and involves educating students with and without disabilities and managing caseload.

The role focuses on differentiated instruction, collaboration with content teachers, and use of assistive technology, with a 35-hour work week,

Qualifications

• Active CT teaching certificate in Comprehensive Special Education 065/165/265 or eligible.
• Four years’ experience in a high school setting (9-12).
• Experience with accommodations, monitoring progress, and case management.
• Experience with varied assessments to inform instruction and promote learning.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google tools.

Responsibilities

• Educate students with and without disabilities and manage caseload.
• Differentiate instruction and use assistive technology.
• Collaborate with content area teachers to ensure equity in instruction.
• Design and assess transition needs; engage in parent/community outreach.
• Create a student-centered classroom environment and administer assessments.
