Job summary

The Helix School in San Rafael, CA is seeking a High School Special Education Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year to support autistic students in a nurturing, interdisciplinary setting.

You will lead a classroom of 6–8 neurodivergent students, delivering differentiated instruction and collaborating with a team of ed specialists, behavior clinicians, and families to meet individualized goals.

Qualifications

• Valid California Education Specialist Credential or eligibility for intern status.
• Experience teaching neurodivergent students, especially autism.
• Differentiated instruction, behavior supports and visual teaching strategies.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organization.

Responsibilities

• Deliver developmentally appropriate, differentiated instruction across core subjects.
• Lead IEP processes, including goal development, progress monitoring, and meetings.
• Collaborate with aides, therapists, clinicians, and families to support individualized needs.
• Create a predictable, safe classroom environment and promote student engagement.
