Job summary

The Helix School in San Rafael, CA is seeking a Special Education Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year to support autistic students in a collaborative, mission-driven environment. You will lead a classroom of 6–8 neurodivergent students, delivering engaging, differentiated instruction and working with families and specialists to meet individualized needs.

What You’ll Do

As aSpecial Education Teacher, you’ll lead a classroom of 6–8 neurodivergent students, helping them build academic, functional, and social-emotional skills through hands‑on, engaging instruction and predictable routines. You’ll work closely with specialists and families to ensure that each child’s individualized needs are supported.

Key Responsibilities:

What You Bring

• A valid California Education Specialist Credential (Mild/Moderate Support Needs or Moderate/Severe), or eligibility for intern status
• Experience teaching neurodivergent students, particularly those with autism

• Skill in differentiated instruction, behavior supports, and visual teaching strategies
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
