Job summary

SchoolHiring (Division of ExpertHiring) seeks a Special Education Teacher for an onsite contract in Forest Lake, MN. The role runs from August 31, 2026, to June 4, 2027, with 7:15 AM – 3:15 PM hours, Monday through Friday.

You will support grades 9–12 and develop IEPs in a collaborative school setting. The ideal candidate has a Minnesota SPED license, experience with at-risk students, and strong behavior support skills.

Qualifications

Minnesota Special Education Teaching License in one or more SPED areas (EBD/ASD/ABS).
Experience with at-risk students, preferably at the secondary level.
Strong experience in behavior support and management.
Strong collaboration and communication skills.
Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary school team.
Experience with high school students is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide specialized instruction and educational support to students in grades 9-12.
Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs.
Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet individual needs.
Provide effective behavioral and classroom management support.
Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, administrators, counselors, and related service providers.
Maintain accurate student records and required special education documentation.
Participate in IEP meetings, staff meetings, and school activities.
Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress and needs.
