Job summary

Ampersand Therapy is hiring a full-time Special Education Teacher for a high school setting in Anniston, AL. You’ll provide IEP-driven instruction to grades 9–12 and collaborate closely with general education teachers in inclusive classrooms.

Qualifications

• Hold or be eligible for Alabama Collaborative Special Education Teacher 6–12 certification.
• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field from an accredited institution.
• Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• School-based experience preferred, not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized, IEP-driven instruction and support for students in grades 9–12.
• Collaborate and co-teach with general education teachers in inclusive classroom settings.
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals, accommodations, and modifications.
• Assess student progress and maintain accurate data and compliance documentation.
• Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and families.
• Differentiate instruction to support individual student needs.
• Support students with academic, behavioral, and transition-related goals.
• Ensure compliance with state and district guidelines for IEP development, timelines, and implementation.
