Broome Street Academy seeks high school teachers who are student‑first, data‑driven, and committed to rigorous instruction. Teachers lead classrooms, drive measurable growth, and prepare students for Regents exams, graduation, and postsecondary pathways.

The role emphasizes differentiated instruction, collaboration with special education staff, and active family engagement to support attendance and achievement.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant content area.
• Valid or pending NYS teacher certification (or eligibility).
• Experience with diverse and complex learning needs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to use data to drive instructional decisions.

Responsabilidades

• Teach five classes aligned to NYS standards and Regents expectations.
• Design engaging, standards-aligned lessons.
• Differentiate instruction for diverse learners (IEPs, multilingual).
• Use data to inform instruction and track progress; intervene when needed.
• Maintain accurate gradebooks and attendance; support graduation goals.
• Foster a respectful classroom culture with high expectations.
• Collaborate with SPED, ENL, DCIs, social workers; participate in PD.
• Engage families to support student progress.
