Job summary

Wethersfield Public Schools is seeking a Long Term Substitute World Language Teacher (Spanish) at Wethersfield High School. The role reports to the Building Principal and runs October 2026 through January 2027, with a daily rate of $150–$300. The candidate should hold CT Certification in Spanish (023) and ideally a Master’s degree.

The teacher will develop engaging lessons, assess student progress, and maintain a positive learning environment while collaborating with staff and families.

Responsibilities

• Create lesson plans aligned to state and national standards and deliver instruction.
• Create and utilize unique learning activities to support student development.
• Encourage student learning through peer collaboration and discussion.
• Guide students in preparing for assessments.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop world language units and assessments.
• Participate on teams to improve world language curricula.
• Provide individualized student mentoring.
• Assist in selecting instructional materials and classroom supplies.
• Provide timely feedback through formative assessments.
