Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining high academic standards for student-athletes.
• Assist Athletic Director and Principal in hiring/retention of Assistant Coaches.
• Direct, supervise, and evaluate Assistant Coaches of the sport.
• Work with Athletic Director to ensure proper insurance for athletes.
• Collaborate with other Head Athletic Coaches to balance the program.
• Direct training, conditioning, and performance of varsity team.
• Lead and supervise Assistant Coaches in their duties.
• Be a positive influence on athletic staff and teams.
• Engage and direct team at varsity contests and others when possible.
• Advise on officials selection and performance evaluations.
• Recommend equipment and supplies; manage inventory.
• Notify Athletic Director of facilities condition and needs.
• Recommend removal of athletes when training/eligibility rules are not met.
• Ensure all athletes undergo medical exams before the season begins.
• Organize recruitment of equipment managers, scorekeepers, statisticians, etc.
• Maintain file records and photographs for teams.
• Observe sub-varsity practices and games.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
