Job summary

Manassas Park City Schools is seeking a Head Coach for softball at the high school level. The role involves leading the program, organizing team activities, and ensuring a positive learning environment for student-athletes.

You will report to the Director of Athletics/Director of Student Activities and work with the athletic staff to develop training plans, schedule practices, and manage eligibility and safety procedures. A one-time stipend is provided.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and background in the assigned sport.
• Previous coaching experience in the assigned sport is desirable.
• MPCS staff preferred.

Responsibilities

• Holds organizational meetings for team prospects and encourages potential athletes to participate in the sport.
• Assesses player's skills and assigns team positions.
• Develops a regular practice schedule and organizes practice time to provide both individual and team development.
• Works with the athletics director in scheduling facilities for practices and competitions.
• Observes players during competition and practice to determine needs for improvement.
• Conferences with parents/guardians regarding athletic performance when necessary.
