Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 18 years of age.
• One year of coaching experience in the sport assigned.
• CPR and First Aid certification or ability to enroll and complete training.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
• 21 years of age (preferred).
• Current teacher or classified employee of Spotsylvania County Public Schools (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assists in maintaining high academic standards for student-athletes.
• Works with Head Athletic Coach(es) to operate a balanced athletic program.
• Serves as a positive influence on staff and team conduct.
• Engages and directs the team at varsity events and supports junior varsity and freshman contests.
• Manages inventory of sports equipment and maintains supplies.
• Helps organize recruitment and roles for team staff (equipment manager, scorekeepers, etc.).
• Ensures athletes have medical examinations before the season begins.
• Maintains records, statistics, and photos for teams.
• Observes sub-varsity practices and games as required.
