Davenport Community Schools in Davenport, IA is seeking a dedicated Softball Head Coach for Central High School to lead and develop the softball program, mentor students, and collaborate with staff and boosters.

The role requires Iowa Coaching Authorization or Iowa Teaching License with Coaching Endorsement, a track record of coaching at state level preferred, and a commitment to student-athlete success on and off the field.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Iowa Coaching Authorization or Iowa Teaching License with Coaching Endorsement.
• Experience with competition/success at the state level is desired.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate the ability to teach and coach fundamentals and techniques of softball at introductory and advanced levels.
• Demonstrate a competitive drive to develop and maintain a strong softball program.
• Demonstrate a desire to continually improve the softball program and the overall athletic program at Central High School.
• Motivate student-athletes to perform their best on the field and in the classroom.
• Communicate effectively with administrators, staff, students, and booster clubs.
• Support the strength and conditioning coordinator to ensure proper conditioning and weight training for student athletes.
• Provide adequate supervision before, during, and after practices and matches.
• Lead by example with high character and solid moral standards.
• Promote Central High School programs and encourage participation in other activities.
• Collaborate with Athletic Boosters regarding concession stands and attend one meeting per academic year.
• Support the development of softball at every age level.
• Assist at a coach's clinic and at least one youth camp per calendar year.
• Assist in the Davenport Central High Athletic Boosters youth summer sports camp.
• Perform other duties as assigned by administration.
