Job summary

The Davenport Community Schools District is seeking a dedicated high school coach at Central High School to lead and develop a competitive sports program. The role requires teaching and coaching fundamentals, motivating student-athletes, and collaborating with administration, staff, students, and booster clubs.

Applicants must hold Iowa Coaching Authorization or Iowa Teaching License with Coaching Endorsement, have state-level competitive experience preferred, and complete the online application

Qualifications

• Must hold Iowa Coaching Authorization or Iowa Teaching License with Coaching Endorsement.
• Experience with competition at state level is desired.
• Complete online application including a resume and 3 letters of reference.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a proven rapport with diverse students.

Responsibilities

• Teach and coach students in fundamentals and techniques.
• Motivate student-athletes to excel on the court and in the classroom.
• Communicate with administration, staff, students and booster club.
• Support the strength and conditioning coordinator for proper conditioning.
• Provide supervision before, during and after practices/games.
• Willing to support Davenport's MTSS for behavior and academics.
