Job summary

The Alamosa School District Re-11-J is seeking an Athletics/Activities/Activity Sponsor/Coach to lead and supervise the high school sports program. You will instruct students in fundamentals, strategy and conditioning, while fostering character, discipline and teamwork.

You will work with the athletic director and principals to coordinate schedules, staff, practices and events, and serve as a strong positive role model for student-athletes.

Qualifications

• Concussion, CPR/First Aid certified or accessible via NFHS Online.
• Ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport.
• Head coach demonstrates strong knowledge of sport and ethics while mentoring students.

Responsibilities

• Has knowledge of system, state and league regulations and applies them.
• Understands command structure and routes requests through proper channels.
• Establishes philosophy, skills and techniques; designs staff conferences and meetings.
• Trains staff and encourages professional growth through clinics and observation.
• Delegates duties, monitors implementation and evaluates staff performance.
