Job summary

Mounds View Public Schools is seeking a Social Studies Teacher for a long-term substitute at Mounds View High School. This full-time, Monday–Friday role starts 11/30/2026 and runs through 02/19/2027.

Pay ranges from $240 to $293 per day, with pro-rated sick leave and personal time off per the teacher agreement. Qualified candidates will hold a MN teaching license for grades 5-12 in social studies and demonstrate culturally responsive teaching, strong communication, and effective classroom

Qualifications

• Current MN teaching license in social studies for grades 5-12.
• Skilled in culturally responsive teaching.
• Skilled in effective communication.
• Skilled at learning strategies—using multiple approaches when learning or teaching new things.
• Skilled at active listening and understanding others' reactions.

Responsibilities

• Communicate and collaborate with professional staff to determine and coordinate standardized curriculum and testing/assessment designs.
• Create, formulate, develop, and implement instructional objectives.
• Create, formulate, develop and implement instructional activities.
• Conduct classroom instruction/individual tutoring/counseling based on lesson plans and student needs.
• Assess student performance and adapt instruction; provide a supportive learning environment.
• Assess, plan, and participate in in-service training and professional development for staff.
